Donabe cooking pots

A selection of Japanese donabe cooking pots. Donabe, which literally means earthenware pot, are made from a special clay and, unlike normal earthenware pots, can be heated with an open flame. In fact, they can be used in an oven, on a gas or electric hob, on an Aga or in a microwave oven. In addition to being practical, they're delightful to look at and retain heat extremely well, making them perfect for presenting cooked food directly from the kitchen to the table.
