Our Shop
Setonaikai is an independent family-owned shop based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, specializing in authentic ingredients, cookware and tableware from Japan and the Far East. Our aim with this site is to introduce some of our Japanese range to a wider audience.
Our shop borrows its name from Setonaikai, which is the inland sea that runs between Japan's main islands of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu.
The original shop, stocking solely Japanese food, cookware and tableware first opened in 1986. In 1994, Setonaikai moved to Shrewsbury and is currently situated in The Parade, an impressive 1820's building built in the 'Greek Revival' style that is home to 30 unique independant shops.
If you can't find what you're looking for, please contact us as our product range is growing all the time. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff offer a helpful and friendly service in either English or Japanese. Our normal opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday,10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
